Born in Łódź in 1933. A self-educated artist. He worked as a janitor at the Museum of Art and as a graphic designer in numerous theatres and other cultural institutions in Łódź. In 1962, after submitting his works, he became an honourable member of the Association of Polish Artists and Designers , since 1963 he has been an ordinary member (identity card no. ZPAP – 5587). He lives and works in Łódź. He is concerned with painting, graphic art and drawing. He took part in exhibitions of Polish art in Belgium, Canada, Cuba, Czechoslovakia, Denmark, France, Germany, Great Britain, Holland, Hungary, Italy, Japan, Marocco, Mexico, Norway, Philippines, Soviet Union, Spain, Switzerland, Sweden, Tunisia, Turkey, Uruguay, USA, Venezuela and Yugoslavia. The Foundation „Arkadia” named after Henryk Płóciennik collects and forms archives of the artist’s works in Łódź.
