Jolanta Rudzka-Habisiak was born in1958. She studied at Wł. Strzemiński State High School of Fine Arts in Łódź (at present Wł. Strzemiński Academy of Fine Arts) where in 1985 she obtained a diploma in the Studio of Unique Fabric. At present she is a Professor ordinarius, the head of the Studio of Carpet and Tapestry in her alma mater. She has taken part in over 150 collective exhibitions - Polish and international; she has had over 20 individual exhibitions. She creates objects and installations, is concerned with artistic textile art, designing carpets, but also with activities based on graphic and the author's techniques. She is the winner of some prestigious awards for her unique creations as well as for the collections of carpets. She has initiated the Foundation PROTEXTIL which promotes Polish fiber art. She is a member of the Friend's of Fiber Art International (USA).
